My first impression wasn’t the best because the tracking barely updated, so I wasn’t really sure where my order was. The delivery itself was okay, but it ended up arriving two days late. Not a terrible experience overall, I just wish it felt a bit more reliable

The stuff itself was good and I’m happy with it, but I guess I caught it at the wrong time because the shipping cost felt way too high. If shipping had been a bit more reasonable, I’d probably have no complaints.

"Frustrating site and way too many loopholes"
I tried using animate.shop and got annoyed quickly. The pages were taking forever to load, some buttons just wouldn’t respond, and even finding basic info felt like a chore. On my phone, the layout was messy too, so I kept having to zoom in and backtrack. What really bothered me was that the policies felt full of little loopholes, like they were written to protect the store more than help the customer if something goes wrong. I ended up giving up before buying anything. Maybe the products are decent, but the website and the policies need serious work.

"Exchange was fine, just a little slow at first"
I had to exchange my order for a different size, and I got a bit impatient waiting a couple days for a reply. Once they finally got back to me though, the whole thing was easy. The new item arrived just fine and there wasn’t any extra hassle, so I’d use them again.

The item itself looks authentic and came with the usual tags, so that part seemed fine to me. But I don’t know, the packaging just felt a little off in my gut. Maybe that’s totally normal, and I’m overthinking it, but I wish there had been a bit more proof or reassurance. Overall it’s okay, just not a complete slam dunk for me

I did get my refund in the end, so I’m not saying they didn’t handle it or anything. It just took longer than I expected, and I had to wait around for it. Not the worst experience, but definitely could’ve been faster.

"Support helped, but the order issue was annoying"
I had a small issue with my order, which was kind of annoying. It wasn’t a huge deal, but still annoying because I had to stop and message support about it. They did reply faster than I expected, and they got it sorted out quickly, so I’ll give them credit for that. I just wish the order had gone smoothly in the first place because dealing with little problems like that is frustrating. Not perfect, a bit of a hassle, but overall it turned out good.

I preordered from them and the date kept getting pushed back, but there wasn’t really a clear update about what was going on. Support answered, but it felt vague too, like they weren’t totally sure either. Maybe regular orders are fine, but after this whole thing, I wouldn’t preorder from them again.

"Good experience overall, despite slow tracking"
I ordered from Animate Shop to Germany it went smoothly. The only thing that stressed me out a bit was the tracking, because it barely updated for a few days and I started wondering if my package had disappeared into another dimension. But then, surprise, it arrived safely! Everything was packed well and the items were in good condition. Shipping wasn’t exactly cheap, but for international delivery I kind of expected that. Overall, I’m happy with the order and would probably buy from them again.

I had a small issue with my order, so I messaged customer service. They got back to me the next day and actually explained what was going on, which I appreciated. It wasn’t one of those generic copy-paste replies or something about it feeling automated. It did take a bit longer than I was hoping, but they were polite and got everything sorted out in the end. Overall, good support, just not the fastest.

I’d give animate 4 stars, mostly because the merch selection is really solid. They have a bunch of anime stuff I don’t usually find in local stores, like keychains, figures, clear files, and art books. Umm, some series definitely have way more items than others, so it kind of depends on what you’re looking for, but I was happy to find a few things from older shows too. My only small complaint is that the filtering could be easier, since browsing can take a while. Overall though, it’s a good shop for anime fans.
